The duties will include developing, validating and applying dynamic population models and simulation; engaging in knowledge transfer activities that impact on policy and practice; providing statistical support to researchers and PhD students in the Centre, contributing to writing grant proposals, publication in peer reviewed journals and otherwise disseminating research findings.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will undertake research in the field of blood pressure and human cardiovascular physiology, including working closely with internal and external colleagues locally and nationally in this field. The incumbent will assist in the planning and undertaking of research studies including analyse and interpret data to assist in the preparation of scientific publications, reviews and presentation for conferences.

The appointee will also conduct research on the development and optimisation of a biphasic growth system connecting methanotrophic bacterial and diazotrophic cyanobacterial culturing, for the remediation of methane and the resulting CO2. The ability to work in a team is crucial as all work will be undertaken in collaboration with industry partners.

The appointee will conduct and supervise research on strain identification, culture optimisation and biochemical profiling of diazotrophic cyanbacterial biomass for end product assessment. As part of the team, the appointee will participate in research for the development of biphasic methane remediation systems. Report writing and the ability to work in a team is crucial as the research is industry-partnered.

Postdoctoral Fellows would be expected to win research grant funding, especially Australian competitive grants; to supervise HDR students in their field of expertise and to publish their research in high quality journals.
