The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support, analytical, design and development expertise relating to Data Warehouse Services and Business Intelligence (BI) administration, including production support, data modelling, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) development and quality assurance.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff and collaborators from a wide range of academic and technical backgrounds. For this full time position we require an experienced person with a background in software systems development and database experience.

The incumbent is required to work with a high degree of autonomy in respect to recommendations on infrastructure architecture design of the MIS Data Warehouse, the design of the data marts and complex schemas and the extraction, transformation and loading of data from the various corporate information systems into the MIS. The position is required to use and have in depth knowledge of a range of tools such as Oracle Designer, PLSQL, ETL, UNIX and PHP scripting.

This position will be focused on customising and implementing the Unit and Course Management System (UCMS). The UCMS aims to provide a single source of course and unit information, improve the preparation of course and unit documentation, aid in the multistakeholder approval process and provide the flow of information for the publication of course and unit content.

As demand requires, the Service Desk Officer assists IT Officers by performing second tier administrative and technical tasks within the scope of the Customer Services team including, but not limited to, audio-visual, computer laboratory, desktop and mobile services and supports the Service Desk Supervisor with all aspects of the Student Help Desk service.

The Test Analyst will be required to create and execute test scripts as well as follow the agreed test processes.You will also be required to support and use test tools presently utilised in the ITS department as well as complete test objectives on schedule.
